FTA/CTA Asian American Listening Session

On September 7th, 2023, Executive Director Shobhana Verma was invited to a session by the Federal Transit Administration (FTA), the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) and the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) in collaboration with the White House Initiative on Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders (WHIAANHPI) as part of a series of national discussions to highlight the diversity and different experiences of the AA & NHPI communities in Chicagoland. Conversations like these are important to be able to translate our years of public engagement experience, strategies and community collaboration into policy development and implementation. Raising visibility of our communities’ day-to-day experience is critical to move forward with long-term strategies and vision for systemic change.
