On February 6th, 2023, SAAPRI co-sponsored a discussion on Chicago’s new District Councils, which are coming soon to each of our city’s 22 police districts. On Election Day on February 28th, voters across the city will elect three District Council members in their police districts.
At this event, attendees learned about what this new position is through a presentation and panel discussion with organizers who have been leading the work to bring civilian oversight to the Chicago Police Department and create a Chicago where all of us are safe.
