On October 20th, 2014 (and re-airing again on November 3rd, 2014), SAAPRI’s Executive Director Ami Gandhi appeared on the TV show You and the Law, produced and hosted by the Chicago Bar Association, on Chicago Access Network Television (CAN-TV Channel 21) to discuss problems and solutions for Chicagoans with limited English proficiency who need access to the legal system. Melanie Grant, Attorney at Equip for Equality’s Latinos with Disabilities Project also joined the conversation.

SAAPRI’s Ami Gandhi serves on the State of Illinois Task Force on Language Access to Government Services and the Chicago Mayor’s Office Language Access Advisory Committee. As SAAPRI continues advocating for improved language access to the court system, we are proud to partner with diverse organizations including Asian Americans Advancing Justice – Chicago (AAAJ-C), Apna Ghar, Inc., LAF, DePaul University College of Law Asylum & Immigration Law Clinic, and Korean American Women in Need (KAN-WIN).
