On January 8th, 2015, SAAPRI co-hosted a roundtable discussion on administrative immigration relief at the Indo-American Center (IAC). Topics discussed at the roundtable included administrative relief, consumer protection/fraud prevention, documentation preparation, knowing one’s rights, deportation defense, and planning for community outreach.
In anticipation of significant changes to the immigration system, community organizations (including SAAPRI), government partners, funders, and immigrant advocacy organizations have convened the IL is READY Campaign. The purpose of this campaign is to create the infrastructure necessary to quickly and accurately disseminate information, conduct trainings, and coordinate legal services for those who may benefit from the administrative relief the President announces.
