Prottusha Sarkar

Prottusha is a medical student at the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University and concurrently pursuing an MBA at the Kellogg School of Medicine. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry and a minor in Chemistry. She finds great joy in the privilege of caring for patients and actively volunteers her time at free clinics around Chicago in addition to her clinical work.  

With a passion for health equity, Prottusha has integrated community-centered approaches by collaborating with community organizations for various research projects. She is excited to join the SAAPRI team and continue keeping community at the core of her work. Her goal is to understand and address the specific health needs of the South Asian population, foster relationships with the community, and implement initiatives to empower South Asians with knowledge of their health. Beyond academic and professional pursuits, Prottusha enjoys running on Lakeshore trail, indulging in Hindi movies with loved ones, and expressing herself through poetry and prose.
