UPDATE: The 2015 focus groups have concluded. A big thanks to our community members who participated!
PREVIOUS FOCUS GROUP ANNOUNCEMENT:
You are invited to a research study to prevent violence against South Asian (Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Sri Lankan, Nepali, or Bhutanese) retail workers. If you are selected, you will receive $100 for participating in the focus group. South Asian American Policy & Research Institute (SAAPRI) and Center for Disease Control’s National Institute for Occupational Safety & Health (NIOSH) are conducting research and seeking focus group participants. We are looking for South Asian employees, managers, or owners who are part of a small business in the retail sector.
Answer these questions to know if you are eligible for this study:
– Are you Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Sri Lankan, Nepali, or Bhutanese?
– Do you work as an employee, manager, or owner in a retail business, such as a store or gas station?
– Is the business in the city of Chicago—on the South side, West side, or Devon Avenue area?
– Are you above the age of 18?
If you answered YES to all the questions, you may be eligible to participate in this study. Please call SAAPRI at 773.270.0413 or 773-373-9751 to find out if you qualify to participate in this important research.
The purpose of this research is to prevent workplace violence against Asian retail workers in Chicago, who are at a higher risk of facing violence on the job, often in the course of a robbery. Please share this flyer with your friends and family members.
